Machakos University was awarded a Charter on 7th October 2017 and is a successor of Machakos University College. It is located one (1) Km from Machakos Town along the main Machakos – Wote road.

|1. CLERK OF WORKS I- GRADE 11- MKSU/HR/CW/19|
This position reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor APF and is responsible for the preparation of specifications and contract documents for major works, inspection and valuation of buildings, Supervising employees below him/her and designing building and maintenance works
a) Preparation of specifications and contract documents for major works.
b) Inspection and valuation of buildings
c) Designing building and maintenance works.
d) Organizing and administration of routine electrical maintenance works.
e) Supervising employees below him/her, undertake staff development and capacity building,
f) Preparation of electrical drawings and any other duties as may be assigned by a senior officer.
(a) Must have an earned Master’s Degree in Property or Construction Management/ Building Economics.
(b) Six (6) years of relevant experience, 3 years of which as Assistant Estates Officer I /Assistant Clerk of Works I at Grade 9/10 or equivalent.
(c) Must be Computer Literate.
(d) Must have an earned Bachelor’s degree in Building Economics or its equivalent with nine (9) years’ work experience
(e) Higher Diploma in Building Economics or equivalent from a recognized institution with twelve (12) years’ work experience three (3) of which in each case as Estates Officer I /Deputy Maintenance Officer/Assistant Clerk of Works/Assistant Inspector of Works Grade 9/10.
(f) Must be Computer Literate.
|2. NURSING OFFICER III GRADE 7/8 – MKSU/HR/NO/19|
This position reports to the clinical officer and is responsible for performance of basic diagnosis procedures before patients are checked by the clinical officer as well as provision of care to patients upon receipt of treatment. This includes administration of first aid and prescribed drugs to patients.
a) Perform first aid operations and preliminary documentation of signs and symptoms to patients before the patients meet with the clinical officer to facilitate curbing of emergencies and fast service delivery by the clinical officers respectively.
b) Administer medical drugs to patients within the health unit to ensure intake is as prescribed.
c) Provide psychosocial support to patients in need as prescribed to ensure complete recovery from any illness related trauma
d) Monitor patients’ response to treatment within the health unit so as to identify any needed changes in treatment and escalate the same to the clinical officer for necessary action.
e) Organize for patients to be delivered to other referral health facilities based on the doctor’s recommendations so as to ensure patients receive the due medical care for recovery
(g) Ensure proper recording and archiving of patients’ health information records for use in decision making when administering treatment to the patients in future
(a) Must have an earned Bachelor’s / Higher Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or its equivalent with three (3) years’ experience in Hospital set up.
(b) Registered by Nursing Council of Kenya.
(c) Valid practicing license.
(d) Must be Computer Literate.
